Emily Perry

What do you know?

I have a BSc Psychology degree from Manchester Metropolitan University and I have a passion for health psychology. I have been a member of the British Psychological Society for four years and I have had a number of articles published through this membership.

My work experience to date has taught me the value of excellent customer service and always doing what you say you’ll do and to do that well.

I volunteer as a Counsellor for Childline and I am a fully trained and practicing yoga teacher.

Why do you do what you do?

I love helping people to be the best that they can be. I am interested in the reasons why people act the way they do.

In 2016, I travelled to Peru to help rebuild a community and explore different cultures. This opportunity changed my view on life and ignited an interest in community development and resilience.

Volunteering for Childline has really opened my eyes to how passionate I am at reducing inequalities.

How can you be useful?

I am an active reflective listener who will never try to tell you what to do.

I am currently Do-Well’s Happiness Lead ☺

I bring a holistic approach to all my work through yoga as it isn’t just about the poses!

What album has inspired you the most?

Tracy Chapman’s album ‘Tracy Chapman’ inspires me the most, especially the line ‘If not now, then when?’ from the song ‘If not now…’. It’s something that I ask myself a lot when I am trying to talk myself out of doing something.
